The Road To Salonica

Parts of the documentary "The Road to Salonica" were screened, for the first time, on Saturday 24th November in the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, within the framework of the International Conference "100 Years of Research in Prehistoric Macedonia". A six-minute video summarizing the content of the documentary and demonstrating its central theme was presented.

"The Road to Salonica" is a full-length documentary which examines issues related to the Prehistory of Thessaloniki. It places the beginning of Thessaloniki much earlier than its foundation by Kassandros by illustrating parts of the path which led to 315 B.C.and stretch to the present.

It is a documentary in progress encompassing the creativity and efforts of a small group of professionals and it is in the production stage. The project has not received any financial assistance so far because no funding has been granted. It is however supported by Thessaloniki Toumba Excavation, AUTh, by means ofinformation and guidance whenever it is requested. The documentary is produced by the company Macine Motion Pictures.
